Feel the Power: Fitness with a Punch!

At the Frasier Wellness Center, residents have access to a wide range of classes, programs, and fitness equipment designed to support healthy, active living. Among the favorites is the Power Class—a dynamic workout that lives up to its name.

Redesigned to follow the format of HIIT (high-intensity interval training), this class combines strength and power exercises at a moderate to high intensity, thoughtfully tailored for older adults. Each workout is adaptable to accommodate a variety of needs, including metabolic or chronic conditions and orthopedic concerns, ensuring everyone can participate safely and effectively.

Led twice a week by a Wellness Exercise Specialist, the Power Class fills to its 12-participant capacity nearly every session. The program continues to deliver measurable health benefits, from improving aerobic and anaerobic fitness to enhancing balance, coordination, cardiovascular health, blood pressure, and even insulin sensitivity.

“Wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all, and this class proves it,” says Wellness Center Director Edgar Ortiz-Rodriguez. “It’s been amazing to see so many residents not only enjoy the workouts but also experience real improvements in their health and confidence.”
