A Warm Gesture: Knitters Donate Handmade Blankets

A dedicated group of knitters from Frasier, along with members of the United Women of Faith from Mountain View United Methodist Church (MVUMC), recently donated more than 60 handcrafted blankets for infants and toddlers to Boulder Housing Partners (BHP).

This incredible act of generosity represents over 4,000 collective hours of knitting, assembling, crocheting, and finishing—each stitch woven with care by more than 20 talented older adults. The blankets are lovely referred to as “Frasier Warm-Ups”.

BHP provides affordable housing in Boulder, with the average household income of those served at $34,000. These cozy blankets will benefit the 150 children, from infancy to age three, in BHP’s programs. Karin Stayton, BHP’s Director of Resident Services, was on hand to accept the donation on behalf of the organization.

Frasier resident Barbara Farhar, who spearheaded the knitting project, shared, “We have a long-standing relationship with both BHP and MVUMC, so it was natural to think of BHP’s programs for young parents with limited means. It was a perfect match for the purpose of our knitters, who so generously gave their time and even their own knitting supplies.”
