Ellen Cotts was appointed to the Frasier Board of Trustees in July 2014. Ellen graduated from the University of North Carolina with a degree in Economics.
She later earned her MBA at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating, Ellen worked for Conrail as a Manger of Economic Analysis.
Upon retirement, Ellen and her husband, Ron, became Peace Corps Volunteers in Kenya. Ellen taught finance in the Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology, a post-secondary technical vocational school. After completing her Peace Corps volunteer service, Ellen was hired as a Peace Corps staff member in Kyrgystan. She was later transferred to Ukraine. Ellen continued to work for the Peace Corps as a trouble shooter, traveling to several countries each year.
Ellen has been active at Frasier, since moving here in 2011, organizing resident volunteers and serving as chair of the Lyceum Committee and serving on various board committees. Ron and Ellen each have three adult daughters and enjoy playing bridge and traveling.
